Hi Dave, Modifying registry key is not working now. It seems the feature has been removed in Windows 7. However, I sent an inquiry on our internal channel, when I get any response, I will let you know. Thanks.

I've noticed that this is gone, too. It was there in Beta! I really liked this feature and was upset to see that they removed it. I hope they bring it back. Does anyone know if there's a way to provide feedback on RC 1 like there was in Beta?

I am also sorely missing this option. I know probably not alot of people used it, but it was optional and defaulted off , so I don't understand the purpose of removing it. Remember which folders I had open was VERY often helpful for me, so I'd greatly appreciate it being put back. Just thought I'd post this in here so you guys could see there's at least one other person besides the OP who cares about it...

What a useful feature. It's the most important option in my Folder Options. I hope I can see it in the future version. Is there another way to do the same thing? Thanks a lot!windows 7 is cool!

They add it to Internet Explorer and take it away from Windows Explorer.Go figure.

As often as you have to restart Windows, it is certainly useful...Dave

Let's not forget the "File Types" tab that was in XP and removed in Vista. That is also sorely missed!!! Was nice to be able to see what and to change what managed a file type...Microsoft - please put that back. I don't necessarily care about all of the above but a few of these things made no sense to remove imo. Thanks, DaveDave

I miss this greatly too, it seems overly stupid they removed such an important feature.

I very much liked this feature too. I'd seen it in the beta, so I couldn't believe my eyes when after an intensive search following my installation of RC, I found out in this forum that it was removed on purpose. I would resign if this was so very much necessary in realising other important features in Windows 7, but otherwise I'd really like to see it back.

I would be really happy if this function was able to be recovered (as i have already said in my poor english)I'm hopely waiting for the day it willsigned: "a happy friendly user of windows 7" (who definitively deserts linux since win 7 RC, is'nt it marvelous?)
